Catacombs of Priscilla
“And in this place I will give you peace.” As a Living Stones community starts its fourth month working at the Catacombs of Priscilla and living in a small apartment just above the Catacombs, God’s promise in the book of Haggai (2, 9) comes to the fore. The catacombs are, after all, a place of peace; not so because they are a burial place but because they are a resting place, awaiting in faith and in hope the resurrection of the body. The catacombs are, therefore, both early Christians’ denial of the pagan culture of death but also our testament of what the Church could be all about, constantly reminding us of our call to be the living stones through which God gives peace.
