Languages: Polish, English The Basilica of the Holy Cross is located in the heart of Warsaw, the capital of Poland. It is one of the most important churches in Warsaw, with over 400 years of history. The heart of Fryderyk Chopin rests here, and in front of the entrance stands the statue of Christ Carrying the Cross, familiar to all Varsovians. The church was almost completely destroyed during the Warsaw Uprising in 1944 and rebuilt in the postwar years.
