Service Camp in Amsterdam
The Summer Camp in Amsterdam is a service camp in two shifts. We will learn about the history and reality of the Catholic Church in Amsterdam and about the neogothic church De Krijtberg. This used to be a hidden church in times when Catholicism was prohibited (until the 19th century).
We will visit Ons’ Lieve Heer op Solder, an extant hidden church which is now a museum and we will do service in De Krijtberg in the city centre of Amsterdam.
Dates:
Shift 1: 17-27 July 2021 (leaving earlier is possible)
Shift 2: 24-31 July 2021 (with possibility to leave on 1 August)
Accomodation : Ignatiushuis around the corner. We sleep on the floor.
What to bring : Notepad, sleeping bag, sleeping mat, towel.
Cost:
– suggested contribution for meals: € 15 per day
– visit to the museum: € 14
